Frequently asked questions
- How do I leave the cover unnumbered?
- Say which page numbering starts on: the ones before stay bare. The starting number is set separately, so the first numbered page can read 1 even when it is the third in the file.
- Can I show “page 3 of 12”?
- Yes. The pattern takes {n} for the current number and {total} for the page count: write page {n} of {total} and the rest follows.
- The document already has printed numbers. What happens?
- The new ones are added on top without erasing the old. If the two overlap, change position, or strip the old ones first with Redact.
