Repair a PDF
Recover a damaged PDF
Where it runs: On the server.
Drop a file to begin.
This tool needs software that does not run in a browser. The file is sent over an encrypted connection, processed, then deleted automatically after two hours. Nobody reads it.
What this tool does
Rebuilds the object table of a file no reader will open any more: an interrupted transfer, a failing disk, a botched export. What is genuinely lost cannot be invented, but structure often can be repaired.

Frequently asked questions
- When does repair actually work?
- When the structure is damaged but the content is there: an interrupted transfer, a failing disk, a botched export, a download cut short. The table that says where to find each object is rebuilt from the file itself.
- Can a truncated file be recovered?
- Partly. What was never written cannot be invented: a file cut off two thirds of the way through will return at best the first two thirds of its pages. That is often better than nothing.
- My file opens but displays badly. Is this the right tool?
- Not necessarily. A blank page or scrambled characters more often come from a missing font than from corruption. Try opening the document in another reader first.
