Frequently asked questions
- How is this different from Split?
- Split gives you several files which, put end to end, rebuild the original. Extract gives you one, holding only the pages you picked. The rest go nowhere.
- How do I write a page selection?
- A range is written 3-8, a list 2, 5, 9, and the two mix freely: 1, 4-6, 12. The order follows the document, not the order you typed.
- Do extracted pages keep their annotations?
- Yes: comments, highlights and form fields follow their page. What does not follow are links that pointed at a page you left behind. They no longer have a destination.
